Brueschie and Jeffrey Lee, Class of 2008
On Sunday, November 20, 2011, Jeff Lee woke up, called his mom and left her a text message, "Happy Birthday".  He made a quick note to himself to give mom a call as soon as he finished the Philadelphia half-marathon.  When Jeff crossed that finish line, that same morning, he collapsed and was taken to the hospital, where he passed away.

Jeffrey Lee was the WHS Robotics mascot, Lil' Schmoe, proudly wearing the contractor's suspenders at the FRC World Championship at Atlanta's GeorgiaDome.  Jeff was one of the 13 valedictorians in his 2008 graduating class.  At the senior awards ceremony, Jeff came away with more scholarships than any other senior, then or since.

He went on to become a stellar college student, who was scheduled to graduate in May from a dual degree program at the Wharton School of Business and the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, according to Phyllis Holtzman, a UPenn school spokeswoman.  Jeff was a 21-year-old senior at UPenn, who, according to friends and family, had all the potential in the world.  His dad was so proud of the fact that Jeff had completed the 5-year program in only 4 years, and already had a number of job offers from which to choose.  Jeff's older brother, Matthew (also a WHS Robotics alumnus), was preparing to help Jeff move to Washington State, where he had accepted an offer from Microsoft, following his graduation in May, 2012.

Rest in peace, Jeff.  We will miss you.
