Introduction 2003 was Whitney High School’s first year participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). At the Southern California Regional, we won the Rookie All-Star Award. In 2004, our team entered its second year in the FRC. We mentored Anaheim High School and FRC team won the Judges' Award at the Southern California Regional Robotics Competition. 2005 marked the first year that both teams - FRC and FLL - were invited to the World Festival in April, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. After a two-year hiatus starting a FIRST Tech Challenge team, Team 1135 is back and stronger than ever. Ready to enter the playing field, WHS Robotics is excited to be a part of the 2008 FIRST Robotics Competition Challenge: FIRST Overdrive. Our Charter Cogito; ergo, condo. "I think; therefore, I build." This is what WHS Robotics is all about. The United States of America is a super power because, historically, we have been a nation of thinkers, inventors, and people who visualize a better future for our progeny. Now, that very fabric of our society is at risk. 30% of our engineering jobs go unfilled, because we no longer have enough students who are willing to do what it takes to make a difference - to study hard, work hard, and go the extra mile. This club is about changing that paradigm, one student at a time. We learn the math and the science, we rely upon generous and knowledgeable mentors to assist us, and we follow the tenants of "gracious professionalism" taught by the good folks from FIRST Robotics, who have helped us make it happen.
