Who should apply? VEX® RoboCamp is perfect for students who are aged 12 and older (usually grades 7 and up). Students learn the basics of robot design, construction and programming using The VEX® Robotics Design System. Prior experience with VEX Robotics is not necessary, but the student should have some familiarity with scientific method or have taken a class in robotics or engineering. If any openings are available after the first RoboCamp, students who complete the LEGO® RoboCamp will be given priority in admission to VEX® RoboCamp and/or TECH RoboCamp (if permission by RoboCamp administrator) .
How to apply? Complete the application form below and submit, on-line, to reserve your space. Please mail your check (payable to Whitney High School), with a copy of the application, to Whitney High School Robotics, 16800 Shoemaker Avenue, Cerritos, CA 90703, Attention: Marilou McSherry, RoboCamp 2013 Coordinator.

Sponsorship:
IEEE Foundation has generously donated money to provide scholarships for up to 20% of the students who cannot afford RoboCamp. To request a CORE scholarship, have one of your teacher’s recommend you for a scholarship (explaining why you want to attend RoboCamp), and mail to: Marilou McSherry, WHS Robotics, Whitney High School, 16800 Shoemaker Avenue, Cerritos, CA 90703. If sponsorships are no longer available, complete your recommendation and send. If other members of our community offer sponsorship, the next student will be accepted.
Waiting List:
LEGO® RoboCamp 2013 is limited to 30 campers. Once 30 on-line reservations have been made, new applications will be placed on a waiting list, and applicants whose checks have not yet arrived will be advised. If no payment is received within 5 days, the applicant will be moved to the waiting list and the first applicant on the waiting list, whose payment has been received, will move up to a "confirmed reservation".
Light snacks will be provided. Campers are encouraged to bring a water bottle.
LUNCH:
Bring a sack lunch or purchase one of the two available lunch plans.
Lunch Plan A:
1 sandwich, chips and a drink for $25 per week ($5 per day).
Lunch Plan B:
Veggie meal and a drink for $25 per week ($5 per day).
T-Shirts:
Campers are to wear their RoboCamp 2013 T-shirt for identification purposes, as the school will be used for other functions.
SECURITY:
Campers are not to leave campus during class hours, unless picked up by a parent or guardian. If you must pick up your child during class time, please come directly to the MPR with proper identification.
SPECIAL NEEDS:
If the student has any allergies or special needs, please note these concerns on the application form.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel your registration, please keep in mind the following dates:
May 30, 2013: Last day for a 100 percent refund
June 10, 2013: Last day for a partial refund of 50 percent
After June 10, 2013: No refunds given after June 10, registrant is responsible for entire registration
